Denia lies almost mid way between Valencia and Alicante where the foothills of the impressive Mount Montgo give way to the rich plains of the coast. It is primarily a family resort with narrow streets and a palm lined promenade overlooking the long sandy beach which sweeps for several kilometres along the coast. The harbour is where you will find some of the best restaurants serving fish which has usually been landed on the same day.
Denia has almost twenty kilometres of coastline. To the North of the town, there are beaches of fine sand and shallow waters, and to the South lie a series of small covers along the rocky coast, known as Les Rotes. The national park of Montgó mountain is the major landmark of the area.
